Well, you know by now Majel Barrett-Roddenberry died. I'm a geek, you're a geek, we all know how we feel about this. It sucks.

My aunt's 19(?)-year-old kitty, Jennie, died last week, too. On my aunt's 60th birthday. Jennie had the biggest gooseberry-green eyes you've ever seen, and she couldn't sit still for a minute, at least until a few years ago. What a great cat.

Also, I received my Ohio Today magazine, in which I found out that an English professor of mine died in August. He was a picky bastard. And we learned a LOT because of it. He was also a jerk. He'd get pissed off if you were late, or if nobody had anything to say. As I am not exactly a fan of class participation, the latter was really difficult for me. He scared the hell out of me. But goddamn it, I know Shakespeare's comedies.

Things about Barry Roth:
His favorite shirt: A hot pink T-shirt with Minnie Mouse on it.
When it was nice out, we had class outside.
He took the whole class out for beer on the last day of the quarter.
One day I brought Willie to my Shakespeare's Comedies class and put him on my desk. As Barry was lecturing, he paced around to where I was sitting, saw Willie, stopped in midsentence, and said to me, "That's rather disconcerting." Then he continued lecturing.

Bye, Barry. I hope you're having ale and/or tea with Shakespeare and Jane Austen right now.
