Humbug!
Christmas Eve.. yeeeeeehaw. Going with my parents over to Simon's house to celebrate and exchange gifts with her family. It's usually fun, but this year Simon actually has a boyfriend -- until "Silent Bob" came along, she was as asexual as I am -- and I bet he'll be there, and they'll be this indivisible Simon/Bob entity. Incidentally, if I ever do that, put me out of my misery. I am dead serious.
However, if Simon's dad follows me around with the champagne bottle as closely as he did last year, all will be well. Good guy, Simon's dad, though most of Simon's friends fear him. He is THE strict dad, but he has a great sense of humor; he's fun to insult.
