There's a sight for sore eyes.

And no apologies, my friend, you've woken and that is what matters.

Taking turns is quite the norm here, indeed. Still a relief to see your writing as well.

But I wouldn't dismiss it completely, someone might have had to work extra shifts to cover for my absence.

Then chalk it up to the quirk of welcoming you back as a friend, and not having to worry about shouldering your duties, too.

Might I hope you'll come by once you've sorted out the last three weeks?

I would love to, though I don't know yet just what matters I need to sort out. I really just woke up; still sandy, even. Have anything major happened recently?

See the others who've waited for you first. There's a great deal to tell, but I'll be happy to help with whatever's left at that point.

[Half a mind to write 'Does that mean you haven't waited?' but banters get put aside for something more important.]

Your name? If you would tell, then I would be glad to know it, and call you however you prefer to be called.

[He still writes that with much more care than his usual dashed calligraphy.]

Of course. 紅榮 (Kouei). It's a good name, I imagine, but I don't know how much it speaks of me as I am. Just didn't want it to get lost, so I told people.

Then it would ill suit me anyway. [Banter, banter. He dreads her hearing all that's happened, and yet wants her to know. For now, this is easier.]

I suppose humility is better than conceit, unless you work in the field of advertising.

what is advertising now crimson_seeker July 18 2011, 07:33:24 UTC
I beg your pardon? That's a touch too clever for me.

What is -- humility, conceit, advertising?

"Advertising", dear friend. Something to sway people's hearts, but for a purpose of profit? I don't know this word.

Ah. At the heart of it, advertising is making an announcement to attract people into buying one's product or service.

Hawking, but with more effort put into it. Right.

It's not humility, either, so much as not thinking I'm not much one for airs and graces. Though there's nobility of many sorts, I'll grant you.

You can put it that way, though I would say more technique is involved than effort.

That you are, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
