[After reading everything else, Bastet determines that Stellaris probably has no additional information, and makes it a point to stop by Gene's house and check in on him.]

[Stellaris doesn't know what Bastet looks like, but she remembers the Guard Captain was among the hourglass people. If she's there when Bastet stops by and learns of her name, she'd ask what happens to people who get glass cocoon'd.]

[Bastet would explain what had happened to her (leaving out the part that it was Gene's dream she'd gotten). Did you want to ql or handwave this?]

[Yeah, agreed. And that's cool XD I totally understand. If Wintaer is up for it, do you mind if Crimson tags along as well?]

[Will probably be dropping by with Bastet to check up on the man and his cocoon. If it's alright with Bastet.]

[After rushing back to Gene's place after work, as per Krile's suggestion Stellaris had put a blanket on the glass cocoon, covering his chest down. She then sat beside the cocoon, unpacking her takeout dinner. No mood for cooking tonight.]

[It was too early to really be anxious yet. While there were very few certainties here, there were some identifiable patterns, and so far, these glass cocoons hadn't caused anyone any harm.]

[Still, though, before the day was out, Bastet made her way over to Gene's with Crimson at her side, only the faint crease in her brow showing her worry. It wasn't like she could do anything for her friend, but at least going to see him would make her feel better.]

[As she approached his house, she could sense someone else inside; out of courtesy, she raised her hand, knocking sharply on the front door.]

[For once, Crimson was silent and still besides her. He remembered the last time such a thing had happened, when Bastet had been enclosed in a similar cocoon, leaving him and Lin behind to worry and fret. And for him to run a number of diagnostic tests while dodging an angry Lin.

So he knew the worry and even the tingles of fear and he came along only to check up on the man and to see if there was anything he could do or anything new to be learned.]

[Stellaris had heard from multiple people about the indestructibility of these cocoons. Just to make sure, this morning she had tried kicking it and hitting it with a hammer, to no effect. Shooting would be the strongest force she could inflict on it, but it was risky and felt like a desperate move. After all, according to the majority of past examples he'd wake up tomorrow morning. It may well be unnecessary.

Still, logical considerations aside, she couldn't quash the anxiety she was feeling all day.

Hearing the knock, she put the lid back on the food container. She opened the door and laid eyes on the two strangers. She figured they might be Gene's friends-he seemed to have plenty of visitors today-but asked anyway:]

May I help you?

[Bastet didn't recognize the woman who opened the door, but she could see the worry on her face; obviously another friend of Gene's.]

My name's Bastet, and this is Crimson. We wanted to check in on Gene.

[Her voice and manner were relaxed, if somewhat serious. While she wasn't yet anxious, the situation was unsure enough that her customary playfulness was nowhere to be seen.]

[When Bastet indicated him, Crimson nodded at her with a small smile.]

Any changes?

Ah! [She didn't expect the Captain of the Guard to be so... small.] Please come in.

[Turned to Crimson.] None, he's still as I found him this morning.

Thanks.

[She gave the other woman a small smile as she came in, moving to one side of the cocoon.]

Are you Stellaris?
