02 ☆ Born in space returns to earth

The Tokyo wilderness experience have been, for the most part, pleasant and fun, but one of the things I find most interesting is the exhibition in the Future Museum. The 3-D star projection in the museum's theater looked very real, as if I was really in space, gazing into millions of stars, watching how galaxies form. It gave me a sense of great ( Read more... )

Although I am uncertain that I completely understand the nature of the object you are referring to, it sounds most interesting. I will gladly lend my assistance.

I have not examined this specific one thoroughly, but it looks like an optical-type star projector. Generally it uses data from space satellite images made into a slide, then by passing light through the slide and a few lenses, the image projected to a large screen will be identical to view from the satellite images.

Right now I already have enough help, but thank you for your offer, Huo. [His handwriting was distinct.]

A thousand pardons; much of what you say is obscure to me. Perhaps I will understand better when I see the device at work - if that will be possible, despite having not assisted in its transport? I shall have to be quicker next time.

Forgive me, perhaps I should be more considerate, knowing several people in the Sphere are from a different world than mine. If you are interested, I would be happy to explain it later with the device in hand. I find that it always helps to be hands-on when studying machinery.

Hardly cause for apology; it is never easy, to think of the everyday as anything but. I shall be most interested, thank you.

How are you faring with settling in?

Slowly, cautiously, and with endless fascination. I must confess, I dread the day when I must leave off my exploring and put myself to work.

[Can't see it over paper network, but she's laughing.]

Better keep track of the days then! You wouldn't want to get carried away and suddenly find yourself evicted, would you?

[Aw, mission accomplished. He likes her you know.]

Certainly not. I am far too fond of my bed to be cruelly parted from it.

Where are you employed, Stellaris?

I have applied to Housekeeping, but not yet accepted.

[Which in actuality makes her a tad underqualified to tell people to get a job.]

[Far be it from him to judge, still bumming about as he is.]

I wish you good luck, then. Might I assume that you are relatively new to the Sphere, as well?

Thank you. That would be correct; I hatched less than two weeks ago.

I like to think I have. I owe gratitude to plenty of people who have guided and helped me here.

The populace is indeed very helpful. We are, after all, all wrapped up in the same conundrum.
