I haven't been posting here much because my attention has been diverted as of late, but I'm still faithfully following my old Jump series, just not starting any new ones for now.
One thing that's been keeping me happy, though, is Bleach's recent timeskip/reboot. I swear Kubo must've gone back and re-read Volumes 1-2 a few times, because in these post-timeskip chapters, he's been heavily alluding to his old style, with all of its funkiness, humor, and wackery, although he's stuck to his smoother character designs.
And it's a great relief, after the maddening inner silence from Ichigo through the entire Hueco Mundo arc, that the boy's finally thinking and talking his way through battles again, giving us glimpses of his feelings and insights, instead of being super messed-up and secretive. I missed his internal ramblings in the early chapters - he definitely had a fascinating, snarky, wonderful "inner voice."
I also kinda miss the distinctiveness of angular-headed Rukia, though. Of course, when he draws her as gorgeously as he did in
Chap. 436, p. 20 - no objections here! :) (IchiRuki shipper self is also happy this page happened on Valentines' Day. :P)
Naruto is trying the ol' time machine trick, by reviving pretty much every single character that died in the series in one giant zombiefest battle. Unfortunately it's just nowhere as cool as it sounds. I don't want to see a giant fight like this. I've seen those characters die once already; no need to kill 'em all over again. I want to see plotlines being resolved, and this battle is just getting in the way, plus providing plenty of opportunities for my dear poor Kakashi to be injured or killed.
