tie a (not yellow) ribbon on the tree

Mar 16, 2007 22:06

today was philosophy day, fr. david style.

we first headed out to UP to interview the gender office for our foucault paper. then we went to go buy some seedlings (which the stores in white plains didnt have so we ended back in ateneo and the 2 others went to manila seedling).

what can i say? it was tiring. we were supposed to plant 5 trees a group, but our group only managed 3. we planted one champaca tree at the pollock center, and 2 other fruit-bearing trees at the back of faura. it was tiring, but definitely a good experience. our guy groupmate did most of the digging, but hey, we girls also tried to shovel the soil out. joel did it much better and faster though (however, he did break jac's shovel when he tried digging/breaking a root at the pollock center). i mostly helped with filling the hole with soil.

the supposed things you should do before you die;
1. plant a tree
2. write a book
3. have a son

im not sure who said that, or was it even more than three. bottom line is, i have  planted a tree (with others). check!
