Kind of Productive Saturday

The nice thing about working during the week is that the same thing happens all the time so I don't have to worry about writing in my livejournal during the week, there is nothing to remember. However, Thursday, I went to the State Department to see a guy to whom Secretary Welcher reffered me. He is a PhD scientist who works at the State Department's UNESCO office. Well, he is young and not really a powerful force, so he couldn't really offer me a job, but just told me about what it was like to work there. About two-thirds of our conversation (in a Starbucks) was about other stuff, like Spain, my graduate course, politics .... it was a really cool conversation, though. Doesn't sound like I would want to work there, unless I was a Presidential Management Fellow, which only takes applications in the Fall for next year, that would be my only chance and I'm sure I would, at least by then, get a full-time job at Stratfor. He and his Spanish girlfriend from Galacia (he was some sort of fellow in Spain) go to the Tiffany Tavern occassionally, I might see him again.

Saw Mission Impossible 3 last night and liked it. It was interesting and perhaps the best, I don't remember what the first two were about and the second one I found really boring, from what I can remember. Wow, the Vatican is all over the place these days (Dan Brown, etc...). The guy that runs the Old Town Theatre gave a speech and a long one this time, I can't imagine that brings a lot of repeat customers, I would go there more often if he did not do so. I don't really have a social life now. Part of it is I just don't like to go out that much, I get kind of, well not bored, but I hate having to come up with things to say, I get ready to go out sometimes and then I decided to stay in my room and read or listen to music. Maybe I'll go to Union Street tonight, but I am not excited. I am also tired of being an intern now.

Got some fake sunglasses from Pentagon City today after I dropped off some clothes at the laundry mat. This morning I went to the park and studied logic problems for the LSAT, well, I actually kind of enjoy them, but they take me a long time. Started reading Angels and Demons at Bitersweet for a long time today, it is a lot like the Da Vinci Code, but still page turning. He is a good storyteller, but I could write just as good as him ... on the other hand, the simplicity of his prose may be a reason why he is so enjoyable to read, he does manage to convey a lot of complicated stuff succinctly.
