The mansion has a library. It was easily accessible and safe for a short period, but by now it's a suicide mission, I'm sure.

So my choices are either a suicide mission to acquire books at the village library, or death by boredom. Sounds like an easy choice to me.

Don't go to the mansion alone, it's dangerous. I'd say don't go there at all but you sound pretty determined.

Clearly you overestimate my sense of motivation. I may be bored out of my skull, but I'm not bored enough to do something so obviously stupid and dangerous. [siiigh] What's so dangerous about the mansion, anyway?

I only went near it once, and there was some weird thing in there, some kind of demon. That and it's creepy, and just... [he kind of ran away before he saw it enough to explain it] Believe me it's dangerous okay. If you're going to go there get Link or someone to go with you and keep you safe.

Yep, death by boredom it is for me.

Um, I do ... [she is kind of a writer, after all ... ] but they usually involve stuff like someone's eyeballs exploding. Not really New York Times Best Seller list stuff ... more of a niche readership.

Um... [You're talking to a boy with one eye here] yeah? So you tell scary stories?

What's a New York Times?

Um ... I guess you could call them that. [she's never really put much thought into which genre her short stories fall under, except "weird."] The New York Times is a newspaper that tells people what's worthy of reading in the literary world.

It tells you what to read? Sounds like a jerk to me.

That's what every author who doesn't make it on the list thinks, anyway.

Can't you just make your own list?

[voice] linefacer September 28 2011, 17:17:55 UTC
I guess I could ... but no one would pay attention to it.

Pfft. Who cares what those dumb-asses think anyway.

Exactly. Which is precisely why I'm happy to remain an unpublished author.
