So people, I'm crazy.
I'm simultaneously creating a new fictional universe and committing myself to a second NaNoWriMo, all at the same time! I'm insane, I know.
So, the popslashers (and possibly former popslashers) will totally get a kick out of this plot:
Boys Sensation is being billed as music's next huge boy band*. Luke, Dylan, Aidan and Nick** have the talent, good looks, and charm to make it all the way to top. But Luke and Aidan have a secret that, even in this day and age, could send them tumbling back down and undo everything they've spent trying to do.
*I'm very tempted to include a line where someone calls them "the next Backstreet Boys," I really, really am.
**Me: hmm Lucas, Dylan, Aidan and... hmm
Me: Make the oldest a Nicholas for shits and giggles?

(Thought it'd be funny that the youngest member of Backstreet is a Nick and the oldest member of Boys Sensation is a Nick)
What is the big secret? Why, that the two are lovers. :D I'll be trying to explore every aspect of the rise to stardom, as I know it (including their fandom, it'll be great since I'm basing it on a fandom I'm in and have been in for years).
The short form: every canon set popslash story ever written (well, just about), but with the gay being for real.
Edit: Why will "teh ghey" ruin their career? Well they're gonna start as teens/young men in present day, and their fan base will be tweens/teens. Why do you think Lance Bass stayed in the closet for as long as he did? I believe he touched on this in Out of Sync (which I want to put on my reading list as soon as I get through what's currently on it).
Also, should my fictional boys get some advice from my Boys? And if so, what should that advice be (probably something along the lines of "keep doing it as long as it's fun?" Sounds like something the Boys would say)? Before anyone asks... no none of the Boys will be gay if I include them in this novel, sorry popslashers.
