Yuletart!

I know I've got a few artists hanging around here, so I'd like to extend an invitation to join in me a Fanart Secret Santa! (Even if my art's gonna suckkkkkkkk!)

yuletart!

Yuletart is a multi-fandom anonymous art exchange set around Christmas time (a Secret Santa)!

For those who have no idea how a fannish Secret Santa works, here's a rundown: You sign up with what fandoms you'd like to possibly recieve art for (a minimum of three from their set list - no maximum and any number of wildcard fandoms), and tell them what fandoms you'd be willing to make art for (again, a minimum of three from their set list - no maximum and any number of wildcard fandoms).

You are then paired with someone who has requested at least one of the fandoms you said you'd be willing to make art for (I'm not entirely sure you can or would be matched on a wildcard fandom, so to play it safe I'll say it'll be one of the set list fandoms), and you then make them a piece of artwork, submitting it to the maintainers by a certain date (sometime in mid-November for first time participants).

Then starting in December and throughout the whole month, the mods will post five or so pieces of artwork a day (revealing everything about the artwork except the artist). At the end, in early January, the posts are edited to give away the artist, and the wait for September starts all over again.

As a bonus, if you participate this year and decide you're up to the challenge in 2010, you can then nominate new fandoms to be added to the set list!

Now, let me mention that this is not limited to just pictures, either via or traditional media (though of course both of those are more than welcome). Past years have seen decorated gingerbread men, fleece and crocheted plushies and polymer clay figurines, and one of the mods is beyond tickled I may be considering crossstich/needlepoint. Only limit is your imagination (oh... and... they don't accept graphics or photomanipulations).
