Proposal story

C was planning on taking me out for a really nice dinner and a limo ride ( I didn;t know that part) around town on valentine's day but I sort of ruined those plans because I insisted we stay at home and he cook me a real nice dinner in an effort to save us money so he cancelled the reservations. So, on thursday I had a dozen roses delivered to me at work and when I got home that night he was cooking dinner and had candles lit all over the house. He cooked bow tie pasta with veggies and sea scallops in a white wine alfredo sauce. I know, fancy right? It was really good. He even made crepes wrapped around ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce!!

After dinner he wanted to go for a walk down by Lake Ontario but it was so cold out I thought he was crazy but he insisted since we had to take our dog for a walk anyways. I bundled all up and braced myself for a really cold walk along the lakeshore. Anyways, there is this pier by the lift bridge down by the lake. When we first starting hanging out alone together, one night we had gone for coffee and then walked along the pier and sat on the rocks and talked for hours and hours. Well, a few days after that night he told me that he really wanted to kiss me but chickened out and that he regrets not kissing me that night.

LEt me tell you though, the pier this time of year is covered with snow and ice and it was a trecherous walk out there....i told him to just turn around and we could walk the pathway along the beach but he insisted we walk along the pier. So we walked and i almost died about three times on the slippery ice and then he finally stops walking. He got really really quiet and he only gets quiet when he is nervous so I was a little bit confused about what was going on. I was just kind of standing there and looking at him and i was thinking in my head "why is he just standing there all weird like???". Then he says something along the lines of:" I have told you before that I should have kissed you that night, that I regret not kissing you that night. Well, I don't want to think about things i should have done with you months or years from now (at this point he gets down on his knee). (Insert full name here) will you marry me?"  I was completely shocked and my face was so frozen I just stood there for a minute and then realized I hadn't answered him so I said: " Of course I will" and gave him a big hug and a kiss.

Oh and to make it even more romantic......just before he got down on his knee our dog took a big crap on the pier!!!! That was kinda of funny!

Yay for weddings!!! I am super excited about this whole planning thing, although I am sure by the end of it I will hate it.  But for now, I love it. We picked out or venue last weekend and are paying our deposit this weekend.
