I believe it is high time I posted my courses:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
8:30-9:30 (yes, a.m.) Philosophy: Ethics
10:50-11:50 Japanese 204
3:30-4:30 Creative Writing
4:45-6:15 (not Fridays) Mac Choir
Tuesdays:
10:10-11:40 Intro to Psychology
4:30-5:30 Women's Choir
Thursdays:
10:10-11:40 Intro to Psychology
1:10-2:10 Japanese lab
2:45-4:15 Psychology Lab
4:30-5:30 Mac Choir
As you can see, I have no science or math courses. I am already feeling frustrated, underwhelmed, and unchallenged.
I was going to take Cell Genetics: Biotechnology and Society, but I couldn't do it and creative writing because apparently, 18 credits is all you get before you have to pay (get this) even more money. With creative writing, I had to take the opportunity--even upperclassmen have trouble getting in because it's in such high demand--and the professor is giving me auxiliary assignments to challenge me. Ethics is the only essay/critical thinking intensive class I have, so I dare not drop that. If I could drop Japanese and take Cell Gen instead, everything would be perfect. Damn language requirement.
All intro courses. No large essay courses. No science courses. I just realized that unless (until?) my psych professor starts teaching like the neurologist he is, I'm not going to feel like I'm learning as much as I did last semester. I want that intensity again--I learned and grew so much because of Refugees and Humanitarian Response and Intro to IS: Globalization. Maybe I can arrange some sort of independant study with a professor, either more auxiliary research or a read/essay/discussion arrangement outside of classes.
