We´re winding up our last weekend in Barcelona, and while I´m excited for more of Germany, but I´ll be sorry to leave Spain. The weather has continued to be amazing and today we did a hike around Park Güel and saw Gaudi´s first major building. So life abroad has turned into a nice long vacation. I´m considering the next 3 weeks the free time I never got with all the work I did the past 5 years. I´m reading loads of books. I´m taking intensive spanish classes and studying. Alejandro and I are shopping at the city´s numerous outdoor Mercats and learning how to make things like Paella ( Read more... ) -
The Summer Starts
Things are easier the second time around. We're two weeks into the summer season and somehow I don't feel totally over-worked. In fact I spent the day on the beach reading Rick Steve's Europe Through the Back Door and working on my tan.

Germany highlights, as promised . . .
I'm glad I pushed to go to Germany for half the week, because I know Alejandro would have never suggested it. Though the trains sucked up time and caused a lot of stress, it was worth it.

Okay, I have a bit of breathing time and I know I owe it to my future self (if not my millions of fans reading) to update a bit.
I feel very lucky to be here. I just spend an hour outside doing planning. I gave myself a wicked farmer's tan yesterday canvassing, so today I sat out on the lawn in the middle of the pedestrian mall my office is on in ( Read more... )
