Hi! I have decided that my writings may need a little more focus now and then. Rambling about my life has gotten a little stale perhaps. So today I found a list of 194 journal topics and had Josh pick a number. He picked 44: Describe your summer plans. Which was not what I would like to discuss right now if you can imagine. So he picked number 88:
88. Describe an animal that you identify with strongly. Why do you have a special feeling about this animal?
I identify with Lions...specifically, King of the Jungle male Lions. Though, Lion King is NOT my favorite Disney movie...never been a big fan of Simba or JTT. Lions start with the letter L and so does Lindy, so clearly we are similar. They Roar a lot and at times so do I. They are called Kings of the Jungle, but every person who is interested in jungle animals or watches Nature programs for fun knows that Lions live in the Savannah, not the jungle, and that hippoes, elephants, and rhinos can kill them...so obviously, not a true King. Like me. I like to pretend that I am number one, the best, awesome, great, perfect, wonderful, amazing, generally the King of All the People, but it's is also obvious that there are tons more people that are more wonderful, amazing, great, awesome, etc. than me. I am not truly the King of All the People. All I am is the Queen of All The Stuff Josh Wants (inside joke).
Lions also have large, golden luxurious manes. I have big hair and sometimes, when it's clean, it's shiny. Lions don't like water, and neither do I. Lions also sleep all day and are nocternal. I have a dream of living nocternally...but this may be a deeper down problem of dreaming of avoiding life. But I don't see it as a bad dream. AND with my great job AT THE MALL, I am slowly starting to fulfill this nocternal dream of mine. I mean, I work at 5:00 pm every day....no reason at all to wake up.
Lions love meat and so do I.
One problem I used to have with female Lions is that they do all the work while the male rests. It's up to them to go out and get the food and up to them to raise the babies. Terribly sexist. I always wanted them to revolt and refuse to let the male eat. But, as I get older I realize that they still probably live a very fulfilling life. They have tasks and goals to keep them busy, and they have a group of other females to keep them company and provide moral support. The male lion is solitary. The male lion also protects them from other males, but in the end, does the female lion care who is their Pride Leader? I'm not so sure....
Josh and I have the nature video his uncle bought us from the Bronx Zoo, and it took us a few years to get around to watching it, but when we did...oh man. Soooo depressing. The Pride was deminishing through the years b/c the cubs kept on being mysteriously killed off...by their crazy aunt who was kicked out of the pride (for cub killing!) but she still hung around all skinny and sickly at the edges killling the cubs in the middle of the night. Then the movie ended on a sad note that the Male would probably be killed off soon and the pride would be ended and destroyed. How depressing is that?
Those are my deep thoughts on lions.
OH YEAH! And my favorite football team: The Lions.
