How about an update?
Wow, it has been FOREVER since I updated this thing! Lots has happened in my life, so let's get started.
I took a job with First Investors Corporation in November. I studied hard, and obtained my Series 6, Series 63, and Texas State Board of Insurance licenses. I worked hard to find clients, but it just wasn't seeming to click. Plus, the hours were long, I hadn't made any money at all since it was all commission-based, and I was exhausted and miserable. So, on my birthday (as my own birthday gift to myself), I quit.
That was nine days ago. And today is my third day at my new job. :o) That's right, I was only out of work for a week. I am now a Corporate Receptionist/Director of First Impressions at History Maker Homes in North Richland Hills. The drive is kind of a drag, and I have to be up über-early to get here by 7:30 AM, but the job is awesome. They're paying me well, I'll get benefits after 60 days (only 57 more to go!!!), and so far it's pretty easy. I'm actually happy for the first time in a loooong time, and it feels great!
Let's see, what else...Tony and I are doing okay. We've been watching lots of movies (as usual), and we went on our Valentine's Day dinner last night at PF Chang's. We went to Oklahoma to go gambling for my birthday, and I won $50 on a slot machine and ended up coming out ahead. Tony just recently quit his job at ADT (the Friday before I quit at First Investors), so he's currently going on interviews and trying to get into apartment leasing.
The animals are doing good. Pirate drives me crazy with all his meowing, Queso has been extra cuddly as of late, and Chase is as spoiled as ever because Tony lets him up on the couch when I'm not home. :o)
I think that's all I've got for now. I'll try to get this thing updated more recently. I've got quit a bit of downtime at my new job, so I might update everyday (yeah, right).
