Second of three updates (Canada)

Oct 22, 2007 18:29

Today I'm trying to be productive by doing things that I've been meaning to do for a long time. For example: catch up on some reading, sleep in, make a dentist appointment, deal with my Sallie Mae crap, and update my LJ. I've been successful with all of these endeavors (except for making a dentisk appointment...damn it). So here is my long overdue post about the trip to Canda (in bullet form):

- Tony and I landed in Buffalo, NY, then rented a car to drive into Canada. It's dark by the time we hit Canada, and driving in a different country in the dark is harder than it seems...especially when Canada has road signs every 50 feet.
- Our first full day in Kitchener/Waterloo, we decorated the hall for the wedding the next day, went to a mall, and had a backyard BBQ at Trevor and Jenny's house. Also found out that beer is ridiculously expensive ($10 for a six pack of Bud Light).
- The day of the wedding was pretty low key. We went to Canadian Tire, and got ready in Tony's parent's hotel room.
- The wedding was very nice. A short ceremony, followed by a delicious dinner, lots of wine, and some fun dancing.
- The next day we headed out to Niagara Falls. We spent the day exploring the town, seeing the Falls, and generally spending a lot of money. We stayed at a very nice Howard Johnson, and lost some money in a casino
- We flew out of Buffalo late the next day. Spent the day tooling around Niagara a bit more, and got back home in Fort Worth about 10 PM that night. Overall, a very fun (although somewhat expensive) trip.
