Arts vs Science
I find it appropriate to discuss on this fine(ish - ETA it just started raining. It's still sunny though! I swear! SUNSHOWER) Saturday afternoon (yes, on which I should be studying) the great debate between Arts and Science. But probably not in the terms you're expecting. No, I'm talking about the merits of Arts vs Science in terms of my uni degree. Or what I hope to be my uni degree.
Lets start with Arts. I love Arts. All kinds. Visual, English, Ancient and Medieval History. Excellent choices. I can continue with my painting and drawing around an Arts degree and major in either English or Ancient. So what's the problem?
I love Science too. Not chemistry mind. And definitely not the maths side. But I do love science. I love Astronomy, Psycology and, most importantly Biology. That's right, it has a bigger B. Specifically Zoology. Study of animals. I think it would be the absolute awesomest thing in the world to study exotic animals in their natural habitat. So what's the problem?
I think it would be the absolute awesomest thing in the world to live off my artwork and be an author, and study history for the fun of it. Problem? See above. (You seriously missed it?)
So I've put my preferences in for uni, with a Bachelor of Science/Arts double degree at the top (Okay, it was originally Ad Science). But the course is 5 years(!). That aside....I keep changing my mind between wanting to do just arts, or both. Or just science. And I have no idea how a double degree works (Do you do both at once? Or Arts first, then Science? Confusing!)
And now I'm feeling very guilty and shall go back to study. However my point is that.....I'm hopeless at decisions (and coming up with good points). All I know is I want to go to Sydney (Yes/no? Good/bad?) and take a gap year.....but that would mean 6 yrs before I'm out of uni! Eek! Anyone else in this situation? Been in this situation? Have advice anyway? Want to buy me an Aston Martin Vanquish? And is one able to accelerate one's degree? How would one go about it?
