womens novive 8 is the best!!!
this is gunna be long bc of regatta detales...
yesterday was a normal boring day at school. then at crew we rowed for a little bit and took the boats over the the slepskys and loaded them onto the trailer for the regatta we had today. today wokeup at 5..too early for a saturday! got ready and left for botanical gardens for our first regatta! i got there kinda late but oh well...went over to my ghetto seat and rigged it and i kept on checking my seat over and over to make sure it was gunna stay on for the race since its been coming off all week which really sucked! after the boat was ready i went over to the cox boat area and got to see amanda..i was sooo happy i haven't seen her in sooo long! we talked for a little bit then i left to get some food and chill with karen. we hung around for a while with a bunch of people adn had lots of fun...man i love regattas! then me and caleb went on a walk around botanical gardens which was cool and went and chilled at the tower...so awesome...you can see everything from there! then we went back to the launching area and got ready to launch the boat. we still had a little bit before our 8 had to be launched so me amanda and kraen hungout for a little bit and i finally found out who chris simmons is. right when we where getting ready to take our boat out i saw cera k. which was awesome! then our boat...the womens novice 8...got out and did the warmup out to the starting line and this stars and stripes boat from cox was being gay adn kept on trying to craash into our boat and so did this stupid team that had no clue what they where doing. ahhh it was sooo cold out there!! we sat around for a little bit waiting for our race to begin and our boat was 4th to start since today was a head race. when we started my seat had been awesome and hadn't broken or shown any signs of breaking which was amazing...but when we got down to our first turn one of the other teams had gotten stuck and was like bloacking the turn or something and they only gave us 6 seconds to get ourselves back on track which was hard! but we did it and we did a power 10 to makeup for lost time and on the 4th my seat breaks...just my luck!!! i had to row the rest of the rest without a working seat...my butt was half way on a tilted seat and the other half was on the metal track!!! it hurt sooo bad but i kept going and i had to do 3 power 10's and one power 20 like that which was a huge pain. man that race was so intence when we crossed the finish line i was sooo happy to be able to get off of the track and fix my seat! once we got docked and had brought the boat back to our area karen gave me a huge hug and was like "omg lindsey i love you...you are the best...i cannot beleive you just rowed that whole thing without a seat!" it was sooo funny but very cool. i basically got the same responce from everyone that was in my boat....which made me glad i kept going when it broke! we de-rigged the boat and got it on the trailer and i all of my arms are covered in little red dots from fiberglass getting in my arms while i was tying the boats down...owie!!! hung around the area then when amandas boat got in i talked to her for a few. a little bit later coach fab came into the middle of the launch area and announced the race results...and i sware my heart stopped when he annonced who won for womens novice 8 and guess what? WE WON...omg i was sooo happy!!!!!!!! when i saw karen she gave me a huge hug and was swinging me around...haha it was fun but i got really dizzy. and our guys novice 4 won there race two which was awesome to come away with two wins on our very first regatta!!! after the reagatta i came home changed and went out for a little bit with my mom. came home and talked to caleb and made sooo much food!! wow i was sooooo hungry from crew!!!! then i watched the prince & me and then scooby-doo2..haha random but really awesome movies!!! i talked to caleb for over two hours...dunno how we do t but we always talk for a long time! now im getting ready to get more food and watch love actually...sooo tired but oh well!
