My first post... Hello, LJ

Let me introduce myself by saying that I’m a reader, not a writer. I envy those brave and talented enough to post their work, but I’m afraid I just don’t have what it takes. I visit LJ to read QAF fics… an addiction that I can’t seem to kick and have decided to embrace. I have never posted on my LJ account since I felt that, not being a writer, I didn’t have much to say. There are a number of my favorite authors in LJ that have FL’ed many of their stories. I would love to send a friend request, but in the process of reading a few of their posts, saw that many will only friend LJ users that have posted comments. So… here I am. It’s a fair request. How else do you know who/what I am, right?

I live in the New Orleans area on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. After working for a million years as an administrator for a local university, I find myself unemployed.  This is a new experience for me, as I’ve worked every day since I was in high school, so I’ve decided to take a couple of years off. This has afforded me the opportunity to indulge in things I never took the time to enjoy before… like reading QAF fanfiction!  My love of all things QAF began about 2 years ago when I discovered the UK version online (I know. Late to the party, as usual). I was swept away instantly, but, alas, the series was all too short. I decided to try the US version, though I was certain that it couldn’t possibly live up to the ‘original’. Hah. I was naive and foolish. Ten minutes into the first episode, I was seriously hooked. Viewing the series online is horribly hit or miss, so I ran out and purchased the entire series on DVD. Ahh!!! I savored each and every episode. That, naturally, led me to QAF fics. There are some seriously talented writers out there!
