This whole business with working in a bookstore has played havoc with my economy. My sweetest has kindly said that he didn't expect a larger income, but smaller expenses. And that is both true and untrue.
I get a nice discount on the stuff in the store. But that doesn't come close to compensate for the ridiculous amount of books I want to bring home every month! So in the end it seems I've gotten myself into a situation where i buy more books than I should... And every time I swore I needed that particular book badly!
So, to come to some kind of solution for this I wrote a list at work containing the books I was allowed to bring home every month. My colleges aren't allowed to sell any other books to me.
It worked for two whole weeks! Then, today, the shipment with news arrived and I stood there with my hands full of books I really, really wanted. And series I've started and want to continue. And new authors that I'm curious about. And.... You get the picture....
Since it's just a week before next month I can move some of the news I covet to February, but that's only a temporary solution. There will be more news during February that I've already ordered.
To top it off I've found a new obsession-- Steam-punk-- and there are way to many books and movies that I want to read and see now! The first of which are
Whitechapel Gods by S. M. Peters. I've moved that one into this months allotment and have it in my hands right now! I've found a review
here, but didn't want to read it before I've read the book.
