Why Star Trek is different from other fandoms
I've been feeling a little mad at Trek lately, what with the delay in starting the new movie and the general lack of urgency about giving anything to the franchise. Lucky for me, two of my favorite people on the planet decided to get together and do this:

In the second, she talks about how she helped make it a reality, not just through Trek but also her work with NASA. She's an actor, singer, writer, educator, and all-around amazing person. I'd trade a werewolf or three to get futuristic sci fi back on my TV, and to give people like Nichelle a platform to inspire another generation.
