wow. ouch. that's an amazing concept, and one that if he retains the memories of it could be permanently psychologically damaging. <3 awesome. (that sounds so terrible! not for Jim, poor thing. but mad storytelling)
Thank you, my dear! I think it was not as bad as he thinks, being as it was a simulation, if that makes any sense at all. But yes, being ebil is fun >:)
This was so beautiful. Guh, I can't think of a worse punishment for Kirk than to be trapped in his own mind, the boredom and inability to act would be worse than any physical torture or death, I imagine. And just the description of how Kirk longed to look into McCoy's eyes again, and the treasured memory of their first kiss....perfect. *wipes away tears*
You know, I'm feeling better and better, so I really hope so! I have all of these ideas, not just of K/Mc but of others, and pieces of like eight different stories sitting on my hard drive. So hopefully I will be able to ask for your talented literary mind to take a look-over a finished fic in the near future... :D
Jim has made up his own stories to fill in the missing years, and in them Leonard is a teacher, the love and bane of his students, a painfully handsome man with black-and-silver hair and a service record blazing with achievement and honors.
Actual tears coming out my eyes. GOD. This is a wonderful fic.
There's pretty much nothing you can do to break him, which is damn convenient, considering what he's been through this week alone. Thanks so much for reading it!
This is just lovely and it brought tears to my eyes. I had to read it a few times just because I love it so much.
I especially loved how I didn't know that his punishment was only a simulation until the end, and the realization that Jim will now go through life with an additional 20 years of a painful experience. I'm curious as to how that would affect his character (besides making him appreciate Bones so much more of course!)
Again -- I just love this and think it was beautiful storytelling here!
Your comment is very kind and thoughtful! I have to believe that because it was a simulation, it might have been more like implanting the memory of having gone through it in him, than actually making him go through it. If that makes any sense. But yes, he has Bones to pick up the pieces, which is good!

Yow, such an insightful observation.
Is time going to permit you to write anything of your own this spring?
