Sam has been spending a lot of time on the computer during the past month, and really shows no signs of stopping. Not that he should, necessarily. He found a computer game that he can actually play, because it's text based. Sam used to play video games when he was younger, and I think he missed that as he lost more and more of his sight. But he's spent so much time on the computer, that I rarely had a chance to use it anymore, so he bought me an early Christmas present for me - a laptop! I love it. It's wireless, so I'm actually typing this from an entirely different room than the modem, and sitting in bed. I'm happy that he's found something that he likes to do and that there are now things that we can both do without having to depend on the other. But I'm worried that now that we both have these things we're addicted to that we can spend hours at a time on without the other, that we'll spend less and less time together. And often times, there doesn't seem to be anything we can do together other than watch TV, so I just let it go. We can't go shopping most times because we're trying not to spend too much money (though I'm being a little less uptight about it lately - more on that later). He gets bored and antsy if we spend too much time shopping too, so for both our sanities, it's best if we don't do that too often. Walks are nice, but after work, I'm too tired and a little grumpy. We go out to eat, but that doesn't take too long. I don't even really get what most people do for fun nowadays besides these things, even without the added couple dynamic... What do normal people do in their free time?
