drunk fest 2006
so yesterday i had typed up half of my entry when it got deleted. so now i will try again, and try not to do cliff's notes, because i really do want to tell you what happened. especially since i haven't updated in a while.
so everything before going to philly was pretty much not exciting or worth an update. we left on wedensday after some minor drama involving 3 different car rental locations. but we finaly got on the road. the drive was nice and went quickly. we got to the city of brotherly love around 11 and partied/chilled until about 2 when we went to bed.
thursday the weather was crap so we only went outside to get dunkin donuts and stop at rite aid. then we spent the day chilling in our room. we only ventured down to the lectures to paint a t-shirt for 80's night. thanksgiving dinner/80's night was okay. the food was good, and we i watched top gun, which they were projecting on to the wall. unfortunately the party wasn't too good, so we continued it at the hotel. we went to bed aournd 2.
friday the weather was fabulous so we went to south street. did a bit of shopping and had philly cheasesteaks. they were yummy. i bought a nice headband, an awesome map of middle earth that i'm going to frame, people's sexiest man alive issue, bath and body works. friday night was the rock night at the latvian house. it was pretty good, but i got waylaid at the hotel with a friend, so we missed most of it. after everyone returned, we were bored, so we ended up walking about 12 blocks to a diner. it was kinda sketch, and we were the only white kids there. but it was very fun. we got back at like 4.
woke up on saturday and then went to walk around independance hall/liberty bell etc. had lunch at the west terminal market and then i met up with our friends from syracuse who were in town. my brother didn't come because he was a tad inebriated. butr i went and had a nice time. then we got all dressed up and went to the official dance. that was mad fun. everyone looked very nice as well.
afterwards i must say i got a bit drunk. actually drunk, yes me. and i'm fairly sure i was annoying as hell. needless to say i did not feel very well on sunday. the drive home took ages and we were impeded from actually getting on the road by a few incidents. but we finaly made it at 1 in the morning.
i actually managed to get myself out of bed and to work on time, which i am very proud of. i'm still exhausted, but i have so much to do that i don't really have time to chill. i need to finish x-mas shopping, which actually i have a really good head start on. and then i have to do the christmas card thing. as well as decorate/clean the house. phew... i can't wait till i can get a moment and spend all day watching classic christmas movies.
