Somebody posted a (sort of) reprompt on the kinkmeme asking for Sherlock Holmes as a former Death Eater.
You guys. I have never written an HP fic before in my life, I almost never even read in the fandom. But I have read all the books and somehow that prompt got me by the non-existent balls.
Which is...fine, really. I was at loose ends and I needed a new fic to work on, because the Major Pieces sequel is not working and it's just pissing me off. It just makes me laugh, the things my brain fixates on.
I'm really enjoying myself, but this thing is getting kind of emo. Time to get some plot up in here.
(Not that anyone was actually wondering this, but I time shifted the HP universe forward 12 years so the Battle of Hogwarts occurs in 2010, which means I can have Sherlock be a death eater during the first war and not be in his 40s when he first meets John. Thank you, JKR, for refusing to anchor your timeline. And thank you,
