First,
theemdash linked me to
dysfic101, an lj comm which is going to be acting as a sort of online college course on dystopian fiction this spring. They have a syllabus up, and they promise secondary reading material and discussion. You can sign up to lead discussion on a book or cluster of books (by providing prompts to start/keep things going), or just discuss, or just read along, as you like. :D No essays. ;)
Here's a link direct to the syllabus/intro post. It looks like a lot of fun; I hope to see some of you there! (It's a book a week, if you're wondering. But it's not like they'll take attendance, I'm sure you could start reading earlier or skip weeks, if you're pressed for time.)
This post made me laugh and laugh, and laugh some more.
If you've ever hankered to try Minecraft,
now is the time to buy. It goes to beta on December 20th, at which point the price will double. You're almost out of time to buy the alpha version for $15, which includes free updates forever. (The beta version won't.)
I'm so fucking jealous of people living in LA right now, you don't even know. (Still not enough to make me jealous of Texans. Sorry.)
Know what else is good that IS here though?
Roly Poly. I love the Key West Cuban and the Thanksgiving. Nom nom.
Also,
Trinacria. And the pit beef at
Chaps, with onions and horseradish mayo. FUCK YEAH.
Sorry, what was I talking about? It's dinner time and I got distracted. Oh yeah. Awesome things.
I haven't linked to Cracked in a while, so enjoy
6 Animals That Just Don't Give a Fuck. Or how about Chris Sims'
look at batshit cartoon christmas specials?
Finally, and gloriously, I present this video. Courtesy of the enormous gathering of nerds at
enemy_anime and
xerahanadu's house this weekend. This is what would happen if Win and Awesome made sweet love down by the fire and didn't use a condom.
