Re: Fact Checking
Everything in your
"article" about the supposed TMNT sequel is bullshit, from top to bottom. Let me break it down for you:
1. Steve Murphy, who works at Mirage Studios (which owns the TMNT), has
debunked this rumor. Further, if you even skimmed his blog for info you'd be aware that Imagi lost its option for the sequel several months ago, and the decision about whether there will even BE a second movie is not really theirs at this point...it's Mirage's.
2. Kevin Eastman sold his interests in the TMNT, except for some limited reprint rights, almost a decade ago. Peter Laird, who owns Mirage, is now the sole owner of the property, and therefore the ultimate determiner of what projects get greenlit.
3. Playmates' web-site never plugged a "live action" movie to be released in 2010. It DID mistakenly reference a CGI movie to be released in 2010,
which was later corrected. 4. Kevin Eastman is the co-creator of the TMNT. Kevin Munroe was the director of the 2007 cgi movie. Can't you people access
IMDB or
Wikipedia from your home planet?
Even the sites you
copied this story from got it right!
NICE FACT CHECKING.
It may be petty, but it made me feel better.
ETA 9/4:
Thanks for your feedback. Playmates' site DID indeed plug a live-action
movie -- they're still claiming a new movie is in the works for 2010.
Murphy simply shot down the live-action part of it in his posting, which
reflects what we said in our article. We will, however, be posting a new
story today.

I'll refrain from making the obvious Fox joke. But the guy who couldn't google the guy he was quoting is a senior editor? Major lulz.
