Hope for the future?
The new TMNT 2k3 season pitch is go. Since this is the pitch that DID get accepted, details are very few. What we have is:
1. Vague blurb that tells us nothing, other than the fact that there are going to be new opportunities for toys.
2. The toddler turtles crap has been dumped.
3. Some of the other (unspecified) ideas from Overload have been kept.
4. The storyline is going back to the standard 2k3 timeline, "more or less." (Steve's phrase.)
5. They intend to drop the animation/art quality again to save on production costs.
I am very hopeful, except for the last factoid there...There was a massive quality drop in between season 4 and FF, and for 4Kids to be saying that they think there is room to redesign the show to a still lower quality (or "more stylized" to use their lingo; I guess it sounds better than "shittier" as a descriptor for the art) is very disturbing to me. But we shall see what we shall see.
