I call bullshit

Apparently LJ is once again deleting fandom journals for overly-prurient content, despite their insistence that they would not do this. The victims this time are Harry Potter fanartists who depict sexual situations with characters who are underage in some of the HP books and may or may not be underage in the fanart. The thing for me is, despite all this crap they keep pulling recently, I like the workings of LJ. I like how you can have lots of icons, how the friending works, the custom friends groups, the lj cut feature, the scrapbook graphic hosting thing, etc, etc. Plus, as you mentioned, I have so many friends here. I don't think I could leave unless things got really bad.

And my account is expiring in a few days...I need to definitely make a decision very soon!

Well the thing is, the more popular journaling sites are actually based on pre-6A versions of the LJ software, so many things are substantially similar.

I'm not planning to leave any time soon, but I might start cross posting at IJ to "build" myself over there. I don't know; I'm sure fandom will get all mad and LJ will just change their minds again since the only thing they seem to excel at is waffling.

Yeah. :\ I understand why they have an age limit just as I understand why the age of 'adulthood' is set at a particular level...but in the end it's always kind of an arbitrary number. It's possible to be 15 and more mature and responsible than a lot of adults, or 30 and less mature and responsible than a lot of kids.
