In which I am very wrong

So yeah, I admit it: rumormongers were right, I was wrong.

Me: Somehow this rumor got started that there are thirteen missing episodes from season 4.

Dan Berger: They're not missing episodes from season four, they're episodes that were begun as season 5.

Me: The suggestion is that they were scrapped when the new direction for season 5 was decided upon.

Dan Berger: That's accurate as far as I understand it.

Me: Some say the scripts were written but tossed before any development was done. Some say (and this seems the most ludicrous to me) that the "missing eps" were actually totally in the can before being scrapped.

Dan Berger: Scripts were completed and some initial design work was done, thus a great deal of money had been invested in the episodes before production on them ceased. Mirage convinced our partners, Playmates Toys and 4Kids Entertainment, to complete the shows and decide later how to try to
recap the investment. Right now the plan is to release them on DVD, perhaps beginning as early as this Fall, and promote them as "The Lost Season". These plans may change, but that's where things stand at the moment.

My profoundest apologies. The clearest iteration of this that I heard was from onnawufei, who heard it from donatelloivey, who supposedly heard it from some inside source- possibly also from Dan, but obviously from someone who knew what they were talking about. I think the rumor just got a little mangled as it traveled around, but it is, in essence, TRUE. My bad, y'all.

(Still waiting for word on "Insane in the Membrane," which I also wrote Dan about. He wrote the series producer and said he'd post on the website if he heard back.)

FYI: I'm not discontented about this in particular, I'm just discontented about life in general. I'm vascillating between flipping out about the whole employment thing, being depressed, and sitting around not wanting to do anything. I won't bore you any further. ;)
