The antlers of a procrastinating beast

Dec 03, 2007 22:17

I finally got the antlers painted for Deanna of Ambient Arts. Now I just have to seal them and make the flaming bloody circlet. :\ I suck. I need more final deadlines.

Well, I guess I can blame it mostly on experimentation/ trial and error. I've been trying to find a better modeling compound, to no avail thus far. I also wanted to leave them to dry for a very long time, to make sure they weren't going to crack like mine did. I'm becoming more and more convinced that mine became brittle from riding in the luggage compartment of the airplane, because these seem fairly sturdy. Hopefully the polyurethane sealer will add to their stability and wearability. It should be interesting trying to make a circlet look like the leaves and berries that I stuck randomly in my hair.  I've had bit of trial there, already, as well, so hopefully I'll be set in no time. I feel terrible for Deanna! She did give me however long I wanted, though. It's her own darn fault! :D

Both of these images are kind of washed out... the light in my house was awful today. Hence why I haven't posted any holiday decor pictures!
