Not everyone is celebrating today. For some people, including some people I love very much, the person that they would have been celebrating on Mother's Day isn't here anymore. To those people, those friends of mine, I want you to know that you're in my heart, and that in the absence of that person who you love and who you lost, I celebrate the life they lived. The love they had for you, the person they were and the person they helped you become. I know today will be hard, and I want you to know that you are loved.
Not everyone is celebrating today. Not everyone had a mom who knew that it a vocation and a calling. Not everyone's mother was there, not everyone's mother stepped up, and not everyone's mother really deserves that title. And that sucks, and although I don't know, I imagine that it sucks to have people telling you to celebrate someone who wasn't there, emotionally or literally. You're in my thoughts, especially those of you I know personally.
