so I've got about forty five minutes until I have to leave for French. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something, which upsets me greatly, but I can't find anywhere where I may have written it down, so it looks like, whatever it is, it's not happening. BUT! I did at least get all of my grammar done, and it's all ready to hand in, and I'm pretty sure we don't have a test today. So that's nice. On the other hand, I totally BOMBED the last quiz because I didn't really do the reading (the first reading, which she focused on, is the one I skimmed through, whereas I knew the second and third readings like the back of my hand! booooo).
Well, I just killed about twenty minutes eating. Mmmm salmon.
And an update on the graduating drama: I walked up to the office of student programming, ready to give them hell if they told me my application to graduate was too late, and the woman was just like "oh, yea, today's the last day we're accepting them, you're fine." And she changed my official name to include my middle name, and she helped me with the switching programs form, and everything went by smoothly. And then the Tuesday after that, I booked it over to Keele to get my grad photo taken - that was drama and a half. My phone froze at 1:00 during the night - I know this because, when I woke up, my phone said it was 1:00. My appointment was at 10 and I wanted to be up by 7:30. When I flipped it open in a panic, though, the screen was blank. It took me a moment and an almost-cry to realize that this meant the time on the front was probably wrong - it was, in fact, 8:15 - I needed to leave by 8:30. I booked it into the washroom to straighten my hair (thank GOD I'd had the foresight to shower the night before), and managed to get out of the house by 8:45 - even managing to print out a few things for classes that day. Of course, when I got to Keele, I had a bit of trouble finding the room, but I made it ON TIME!
So I guess I had reading week last week. I didn't really do a lot - worked, slept. I went skiing on Wednesday, with work. I was pretty terrified because I suck and everyone at work is good, lol, but I went over to the bunny hill and had some nice easy runs. I spent the day with Alex's friend Claire, who was visiting from New Zealand and had just started snowboarding that year, so we were sort of on the same level, lol. And my brother came, too, which was just awesome :). He ditched us a couple times and explored a few more runs, but he did spend a bit of time on the bunny with us :).
On Thursday I took a poll from everyone at work as to which grad photos were their favourites, and which I should order. It was a lot of fun. But at one point a customer figured out what was happening, and thought we were talking about my high school grad - LOL! I informed him that, no, I was graduating university, to which she replied "Damn. I wasn't sure if you looked old or young for your age, so I guessed one - wrong, I guess." I laughed.
And then on Friday I donated blood, which, you know, it nice, I guess? But then I had to work afterwards, and I was tired and crabby (apparently giving blood makes me crabby; I hadn't noticed before). Chris let me leave early (fifteen minutes, woo!), though, which was nice, but it may not be so nice on my next paycheque :S.
My parents were in Florida during reading week, but they got back on Wednesday. I didn't get to see them because they got in late and then I worked for the rest of the week/weekend, but they did come by on Sunday night. They brought me some clothes and a turtle charm they'd picked up whilst away, and also the mirror that used to be in their bathroom, because I'd been doing my makeup on the floor next to my long mirror and thus my room was more messy than it really needed to be. So they brought the mirror to put up above my dresser, so I'd have a surface that made sense to put my makeup on. Only, I had a LOT of stuff on my floor, and I wasn't really thinking about it much, so my mom came to help me when I was probably about halfway done and the first thing she finds on my floor is something I REALLY would have preferred my mother not to find, if you catch my drift. AUGH. But she didn't say anything other than "Ok." And I didn't say anything and just put it away. Great.
And now it is this week, and things are going alright, although I really have to stop skipping my classes on Tuesdays! I'm not really all that worried about literary stylistics, because the mark is all assignments, but I'm not entirely sure what percentage of creative writing is class involvement, and I can't be involved in the class if I'm not there. So I need to work on that. Because if I fail and don't graduate, I'm gonna throw a shit fit. SHIT. FIT.
And that concludes my mini-update for today. Perhaps I'll post more later, but probably not because this is the extent of what is happening in my life. Blaaaaah.
peace out
