• Got the Red Rose back from the shop today. Have been a week without her since torque converter blew up and killed my tranny (and by tranny I mean transmission, not transgendered person. funny mechanic lingo) something to the tune of 3k later. *Darth Vader NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO*
  
  • Am an incredibly lucky bitch with a super dad who is walking me through this and helping with the evident blow to my almost non-existent wallet. We worked out a new budget for me today to reflect the increased maintenance/tranny bill payments.

• Had fantastic birthday at beginning of the month, was taken out by neighbors (mainly Chris, who got drunk to the point he forgot why we were there in the first place and then disappeared on us with an old guy flame of his?) to straight-friendly gay club Rumors where I bumped boobs and was wished happy birthday by Betty Desire, a very prominent drag queen and valuable asset to the gay community this side of the Cascades. She hauled me off by the arm to the center of the club and made everyone sing happy birthday to me. It was $3 Long Island Night from 9-12. I got smashed. It was great.



• Best birthday present ever: not the warm fuzzies from everyone's well wishes (though that's pretty fucking awesome), nor my fancy pants new smart phone replacement for the red piece of crap I had formerly, but learning that my grandfather in the Philippines underwent cataract surgery and now has his eyesight back - they even say he sees better than he did before! I did not know about this, but apparently he went something like a year completely blind; he stayed with an aunt in the city and mostly kept to his room crying because he couldn't do anything, couldn't see his family, couldn't go to church. I was the last to know about this, in typical fashion, but it's such fantastic news, I'm glad I was the last to know.
