Dudes. Check out this awesome hat I made for me and me only as a reward for completing two gigantic projects for people within the month without letting project ADD kick in.
THE OWLS ARE IN THE CABLES? HOW RAD IS THAT?
This is the project I worked on the entire time I was on the island. Served as a nice distraction while at the baby shower, I thank you, hat. Ruth suggested that for the eye buttons I will sew on eventually (read: as soon as I get money I'm not saving for next meet) I get something glowy and amber colored.
In my giddiness I said I'd make a twin hat with cream tweed and call it Hedwig. Ruth gave me her child, that was a really bad pun and you know it look and I went what? Hedwig, as in Harry Potter!... Do you mean my head is going to explode by Death Eater? and Ruth looked at me again, pointed to her head and went Head. Wig. Bad pun. Ohhhhhhhhh indeed. Well, if I do go through with making a Hedwig hat, it'll be double the awesome? idk?
Oh, what I used for this hat: Tweed Cascade 220 Col No 7623 (it was the ball I had leftover from my mom's cardigan) on US 8 needles. No buttons yet. I need to make a trip to Michaels for that, and I hate crossing the bridge to the town over. Stupid traffic.
I guess I'm working on Victoria's cloche hat next. I'm thinking about knitting from top down so I can control the dimensions just how I like it - and make sure it fits her snugly. I don't really have an official project list for this next month. I forsee an April of small things I can easily stash away for class...
