operation teapot

Today was one of those rare days spent with boyo. I drove over to his hometown. We sexed a lot, did some Christmas shopping, sexed some more, and lived happily ever after, the end. Righty-o.

So I know I was going to make most of my cards by hand get glitter everywhere but I suck and I'm a slacker. We were at Borders today, and a totally groovy set of holiday cards caught my eye. I think they'll work quite nicely.

I tried to help Jacob shop for his mother, but that didn't go so well. Have you any idea how hard it is just to find a small, normal teapot without the bells and whistles? I can't remember how many places we hit up looking for a teapot; most had kettles, but that was it. Per my suggestion, we hit up Target and found the perfect teapot complete with looseleaf teas.

We also tried looking for other things that his mumsie would like. No go. His mother is incredibly hard to shop for, and it doesn't help that she's stingy with suggestions. Le sigh.

I ended up spending a little bit more than originally planned. It was all in the name of charity, though. The cashiers at Borders ask if you'd like to donate a children's book while ringing up your things, so today I said "oh why not? share the book love!" and bought a brand spanking new copy of The Cat in the Hat for some lucky kiddo somewhere. That was one of my favorite books as a kid, somewhere up there with Green Eggs and Ham.

Today was a good day. It was certainly one of the happier days I've had in a while. Sorry to get all sappy on you guys, but it's days like these that help me hold out and keep believing. Some days when the blues hits I wonder, is this long-distance relationship crap really worth it? I don't know. Maybe this will all work out in the end. Maybe this isn't meant to be. However this turns out, this is most certainly the happiest period of my life, and I'll remember it as such.

God, I'm such a sap.
Holiday card post here!
