Matt and I went to see "Poseidon" today. I had reservations as it was rated PG-13 and he's only nine, but the write-ups said the rating was just for the disaster sequences which I was pretty sure he'd be okay with, considering "King Kong" didn't scare him, nor did "Titanic". Matt did fine, but I was shocked that some other woman brought a four year old and a six year old to that movie. I guess it was mom's "second choice" 'cause as they were walking in the six year old said "They won't let us into that other one because it's rated R?" Good Lord! I can't imagine what she had PLANNED to take them too! "Silent Hill"?????
Those kids were pretty talkative when they first got there. So much so that Matthew and I changed seats, not wishing to be disturbed by their chatter during the film. At the end they left mighty subdued..probably scarred for life by all the disaster and dead bodies floating around. Geez!
Anyhow..the movie was good, but the original was better. Josh Lucas was HOT though! Definitely worth sitting through if only to see him! The script was lacking and very cliched, the film felt rushed, but still, we enjoyed it.
