Will we Ever Evolve to a Human?

Tuesday. What a surprise. After 5 months of waiting I finally got the Rome second season DVD's (HBO series- Made of  a whopping $100 million) from the public interlibrary loan. It was more wonderful than I expected. I started reading books on Roman history after reading all the American founding fathers' biographies and come to know that they all voraciously read Roman history and modeled it. I always say to Debbie I wish I had the power to go back in history and see different time periods all over the world. I was excited later one day to know when listening to audio of Martin Luther King's church preachings that he had the same desire and mentioned in detail. But this DVD did that favor for me. It transported me to Rome. You could say movies like Gladiator do but Hollywood movies revolve around the protagonist and I wanted a multi-dimesional approach of characters with the realistic touch of an historian. This DVD's absolutely did it and beautiful actors castings. Especially Mark Anthony WOW. The Director in making of Rome commentary said "We have done Cleapotra and Mark Anthony romance in angles never showed and possibly never for near future." I felt he meant it and did it.

But Rome is inundated with ghastly violence (gangsterism), barbaric nudity, promiscuity beyond imagination, depravity to the core of goverment (power hungry officials killing the citizens for money). Well it is not because it is in HBO, well that helps to potray it without obstruction but it also true that 2000 years back life was like that even in the best civilization in the world. I read in one of Sowell's book two years back  that Caesar invaded Britain and brought many white slaves. So Slavery was never just subjugation of Blacks but domination and subjugation of dominant society (culturally, civilized, economically advanced...) over the weakest civilization. When the same British become the world's superpower almost 1600 years later then the once subjugated becomes subjugator. This British thought took my mind to the book I read 1 year and few months back named  "Leviathan" by Thomas Hobbes (British) written less than 400 years back. He said the famous words "War of all against all" in his book. Rome subjugated Britain and later Britain become the subjugator of America and even though we freed ourselves from the subjugation. Aren't we the Subjugators now?

Look who is occupying Iraq. It is my humble opinion that eventhough we have come a long way in civil liberties, subjugation (women, people of different race...) and in many other areas. But we still have the same licentious air, and "war of all against all " which prevailed in the Roman society. Please take a look at the shooting spree in the schools, how vile is our media, number of people who gets incarcerated is increasing every year,....... Are humans the same in our primal emotions?. Will we ever evolve from animals even though scientists swear we already did? Will this vicious cycle of subjugated turning in to subjugator stop ever? Please answer me.

subjugated to subjugator? is iraq a supe
