Dear Yuletide Writer,
I'm so glad you are here and decided to write for one of my fandoms!
Last year was the first time I took part and it was such a great experience that I decided to do it again. I'm really excited about the whole thing and I'm sure whatever you write will make me break into a big smile.
If you want to get some idea about what I like in particular, you can read the things under the cut.
I basically enjoy all kinds of fic and there is almost nothing that squicks me. Gen is nice, as are angst and slash, even dub/non con. Crossovers and AUs too. So even if I didn't mention those options for every prompt, feel free to choose wherever the prompt takes you and what you feel most comfortable with.
The only things I can't really stand are femslash and cats/most animals.
These are the four fandoms I chose this year, the part in italics is what I put down in the sign up form.
Edwardian Farm RPF
Characters: Peter Ginn, Alex Langlands
I've fallen in love with the series and the boys and would love any fic that explores their relationship. Gen or slash, they are equally welcome. It could be anything from how they met, how Peter got his nickname, how they prepare for a project, to one of them teaching the other something, having fun together, getting drunk together, ... whatever you can think of. If you want to put them in different historical settings that would be fine too.
As I said, I'm in love with the series and the relationship these two have. (I've fallen for Peter in particular). In the "Tales from the Green Valley" series I
already noticed how close they are and it just grew from there. You can tell they love what they're doing. Having them geek out over something they find or something they try for the first time is also nice.
British Comedian RPF
Characters: Frankie Boyle, Miles Jupp
I've always loved them separately but ever since the
Buzzcocks episode which revealed that they're friends I've wanted, needed, to know more about that. Slash would make me a very happy person but gen is perfectly fine too.
Some ideas for gen would be: How did they become friends? What did draw them to each other? What do they get up to when they get together? Does Frankie introduce Miles to hip hop or other music?
As for slash, is Miles as innocent as he seems? Is Frankie taking it as a challenge to corrupt the choirboy? How did it become something more?
As you see, I'm happy with any fic that involves the two of them :D
Political RPF - UK 20th-21st c.
Characters: Steve Hilton, George Osborne, Andy Coulson
Their relationships with each other fascinate me and I would love fic that tries to shed some light on it. It can be only the relationship between Steve/Andy, just Andy/George or Steve/George. There are so many aspects that can be explored and basically any method to do that is fine with me.
Some suggestions from the top of my head would be: The "war" between Steve and Andy. Did Andy blackmail George? Steve and George fighting for influence and maybe over who is closer to David.
These are the three most obvious things but I'll be happy with whatever you choose. It can be set in any era or in another universe where things went a bit differently and/or sides we don't normally see take over. Perhaps you have a different take on their characters altogether, I'd be interested in that too.
No Heroics
Characters: Alex "The Hotness", Devlin "Excelsor", Don "Timebomb", Norse Dave
Any fic with any of these characters would make me very happy. Anything from their childhood over their time at the superhero academy to what happens in the future. You can also put them together in a gen or slash way; Alex/Devlin is the one I'd most like to see but all other options sound intriguing too.
(Since only four characters are allowed, I had to leave out Simon "Thundermonkey" so feel free to include him as well.)
I'm sad that there are only six episodes of this show but if you have never heard of it, that makes it easy to get into as they are only about 20 minutes each.
Alex/Devlin was hinted at a lot and there are lots of points you could expand on. If you want to do something dark, Don would be the perfect candidate for that. We also know very little about Norse Dave but I think he is a character that has a lot to offer.
There were also some people who appeared who we know from other shows (e.g. Jim Howick, Mark Heap and Adam Buxton), which, together with the superhero theme, could be useful for crossovers maybe.
I hope this gave you some ideas. Thank you so much for writing something for me!
