So as all the people on my flist are probably aware, I am not that great at posting anything accept fic on my journal, but I just finished watching the latest episode of Doctor Who, and guys I cannot contain my :O.
I highly recommend have in carefully prepared meal of fish fingers with custard ready to try along with the doctor during the first episode. My friend and I actually did this, and it was surprisingly good.
Me and a friend are, in about an hour, going to rewatch ALL OF THE RIVER EPISODES IN ORDER THAT THEY AIRED TO TRY AND WRAP OUR MINDS AROUND WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON! Also? Hell to the yes with the Stephanie Meyer thing. My reaction exactly. I was like "BITCH TAKE NOTES! THAT IS HOW ITS DONE! You do not stay around and raise her and get all creepy you creepy creeper."
The more I think about it the more I think she just got...the most screwed in the Library. I mean, what a depressing, unsatisfying ending for a woman of THAT caliber. SHES A TIME LORD! SHE SHOULDVE GONE OUT IN A BLAZE OF GLORY! WTF! Argh.
Can we talk about Rory and the Sontaran Nurse of AWESOME!? AND THE BLUE GUY?! AND THIN FAT MARRIED GAY ANGLICAN MARINES? AND LESBIAN INTERRACIAL WARMBLOODED/COLDBLOODED LOVING? AND AND AND AND?
THE ONLY WATER IN THE FOREST IS THE RIVER! Sexy told us and we just didnt get it! I love you Sexy, you laid it out there for us, you gorgeous old girl.
OH OH. THE ONLY WATER IN THE FOREST IS THE RIVER. How did I fail to mention that? Sexy is my favourite.
I know it's not happening. I know. I know. But can't I hope that somehow River regenerates out of the weird computer thing and somehow, she and the Doctor end up in forward time together and somehow things are happy happy happy forever. I don't even know if that would really make for good TV, but it would make good for my SOUL.
NEW OPTs: "THIN FAT MARRIED GAY ANGLICAN MARINES? AND LESBIAN INTERRACIAL WARMBLOODED/COLDBLOODED LOVING".
But, am I the only one who was pretty sad for the thin half of the married gay anglican marines when his fat husband got decapitated? Half of his identity got stripped away is a moment of surrealism.
I would really like the watch the TV show where the Silurian chick fights crime and her maid is similarly bad ass.
ugh, i could not agree more re: River. THE LIBRARY COMPUTER-REALITY IS BASICALLY PRISON. it's such a horrible ending! and she barely even reacts negatively towards it, it the weird thing. NOW SHE IS TRAPPED FOREVER IN THE BORING NOWHERE-LAND WITH A BUNCH OF PEOPLE SHE BARELY EVEN KNEW OR LIKED. oh noooo. it's like the opposite of what her amazing adventurous soul deserves.
I NEED to believe that older!Doctor is going to use the Flesh to make her a new body, go back to the library and GET HER THE FUCK OUT OF THE MAINFRAIME because she deserves so much better than being TRAPPED. I was so fucking upsetting. You should have just let her die, 10. You had a BAD HABIT of doing that to people - giving them alternatives that were ACTUALLY WORSE THAN DEATH *is looking at Donna and the Family of Blood and so many many others*
A;SDFKJSDF RORY RORY RORY. I love him more and more with every episode. But I am SO SO CONCERNED that River is going to end up killing him. River kills "the best man she's ever known", and I think it's unlikely that this is the Doctor, particularly seeing as she said it to the Doctor's face. I think even the DOCTOR might think it's him she kills, but no: Rory. Like the scene in this episode when Amy is telling the baby, "a man is coming for you, he's been alive for hundreds of years" and for a second the audience are meant to think that the Doctor is the father (NOOOO!), but no, it's Rory. RORY.
(especially due to the early scene when rory goes to see river in prison and she reacts very oddly towards him, even given the circumstances. maybe this is the first time she'd seen him since she killed him, even?)
YES! I totally agree in the way that makes me very sad. The whole prison + Rory scene, I was just thinking, no no no no no, look at her giving him the 'i'm sorry i'm going to kill you' eyes. Has anyone really suffered the sheer number of terrible fates as Rory? How many times has he been killed or deleted or made to suffer horribly and then *poof* saved again. Eventually he's got to run out of lives. He's not a cat, after all. D:
hi hi you asked to come out of the woodwork so here i am (i friended you aaaages ago as aeternitasbeach but this is the new journal) and YES YES YOUR THOUGHTS ARE MY THOUGHTS only that i was kind of flakey in that i only started watching the series when eleven came about. but everything is wonderful ♥_♥ and sometimes i have to pinch myself because i'm not sure this show is actually real. also i haven't read much twilight but i completely agree with how this plotline could have been a complete failure but moffat made it A+
also, your assessment re: rory, yes! when the nurse was talking about how he went from warrior to nurse, all i could think was here's the boy who went from nurse to warrior. he gets so many gold stars for being amazing!
Anyway, mainly we are in agreement! There is a lot of nurse stuff this season, I just noticed. A lot of crossover between warrior and healer, like the angry doctor on the pirate ship. I wonder if that was all some kind of really subtle build up to the Doctor=word for fierce warrior reveal.
Anyway, also, don't feel bad about being a new fan. I'm still sort of new, like I came in Ten's second season, and though I've backwatched episodes now, sometimes I feel like a flake and then miss out a few episodes while the season in running and never catch up again. FAIL SELF! oh well...
Hi. I'm a fan of yours! I'm utter shit at commenting (I usually don't feel that my comments do my actual feelings any justice T__T) but I also couldn't resist answering this.
I think the best part about Doctor Who is how there are so many questions that you are left thinking about because you KNOW they should be answered, and the writers kinda let that sink in and then absolutely WHAMMY you with something you didn't even see coming.
Gah, and I adore Matt Smith. Especially when he finally figures out who River Song is and is completely "OOH, BUT WE *SMOOCHSMOOCH!!!1!!* 8D"
Autumn cannot come quickly enough. I mean, we know who River Song is now, but who has she killed? What is her role in the Doctor's death (was it her in that suit? I'm uncertain that it'd be her, unless there's a huge massive and complex explanation behind that)? And I'm just as interested in the woman with the eyepatch as you are, and I'm hoping that there's more to her than just being a baddie.
"Especially when he finally figures out who River Song is and is completely "OOH, BUT WE *SMOOCHSMOOCH!!!1!!* 8D"?
Lol. Agreed and excellent description.
I'm really curious about the doctor's death thing as well. I suppose she could have been faking anger when she shot at the space suit, assuming that since she is alive, she must remember doing that as a child. On the other hand, it seems just as likely that it was someone else, and they are kind of trying to psych us out. I mean, was she also faking at surprise when she examined the suit. It all seems very tricksy. Perhaps there is more to the whole thing than even this surprise!
I remember, when the Flesh first got introduced, I was hoping that the doctor was Flesh when he was killed, but he didn't turn into goo so... :C
Yeah, I'm still not really sure what to think about that. I'm hoping that they'll be addressing it soon (is the next episode too soon to hope?) It's more likely that they'll just start revealing new pieces of the puzzle instead of giving a straight answer (which, in a way, is preferable. Keeps us speculating and watching!)
I also wonder what they're going to do to cover nearly 200 years feasibly in the scheme of the rest of Matt Smith's run as the doctor. It seems like a long time to deal with well, but I don't think they're going to finish with this sereis of it so soon, for the pretty basic reason that popularity isn't decreasing, so they wouldn't have any monetary reason to call it quits. I guess that's assuming there isn't some other freaky explanation for his death anyway...
