Day 1? Check!

Aug 20, 2008 20:44

Alright so I won't bore y'all tonight with a long post (but alas you are my friends and I just love telling you every little detail, no matter how stupid!). Today was the first day and it went well.
Immunology seems to be a class taught right out of the book which is... new... for me. The notes I had taken from the reading were verbatim what he taught. But you know what they say about repetition, and this is certainly subject matter I need to actually remember after the class is over. One of my buddies, Reid, who looks like a young John Belluci, is in the class and that makes it way more fun. I also made a new friend whose name I can't remember. She is very nice though (hurray for meeting all these crazy/non-spastic science kids)
I had most of the day off and then went back for the pig pickin. It must have been a small pig because they were almost out an hour in. All my friends from orientation were there so we had a good time. Just about choked to death when Will(the cute guy) appeared at my ear saying hello. I've gotten to the point where I know he is not someone I would want to pursue for anything meaningful but more like a "starter" guy. You know, kinda as warm-up. (Yeah, my mother just loves this idea, seriously). Anyway, I don't really see him asking me out or anything but there is definately something odd brewing.
Class after the pig pickin' is for all of us new grad students. It's a lecture series on how to make a thesis proposal and such. Apparently the class will end up boring us all to death but atleast we all have to go through it together. Tonight we had random photos (to be put in the science building main hallway). We all looked like crap and then had to go stand and take them outside in the horrid humidity right after it rained. The prof had to change shirts after taking the 32 photos, it was that sweat inducing. Those should be keepers I can just tell... hahaha.
Well, looks like Lola is stuck between my new lamp and bookcase (of which I need to post photos as it is sooooo beautiful and new). I better go rescue the poor dear from Hamster ball chaos.
