I broke my fucking ankle?!?!?!
SO, I get home from class yesterday, I run a couple of errands, come back and go downstairs to get my mail. Stepping off the stairs onto the basement floor, my ankle rolled to the side, I felt a snap and hit the ground. I honestly think it's the only time I've ever screamed in pain. So, I wont' go into all the gory details, but essentially I broke my ankle - don't ask which bone, I'm not sure, but from what I understand, I basically managed to snap off the end of the bone. I'm in a splint now and have to go to the orthopedist to get it looked at and whatever will happen with a cast. So I get to be in a cast for my brother's wedding and I may be in a cast for Italy. The Doctor said 4-6 weeks healing, and the nurse said 6-8 weeks. I'm praying for 4.
No, this is not an April Fool's joke. I wish to God it was.
Edit: I'm really hating the convoluted system of my insurance. My ankle is broken, we know this, but I have to go to the health center on campus to get it looked at before I go to the orthopedist to get the cast.
