TL;DR: Positive happy post - A lot has happened in my life, I'm very happy, fixed some of mistakes, have awesome family not by blood, and have passed my driving test and booked in for AyaCon!

Hello livejournal, it's been a while. A very long while. Sorry about that. My life's hectic busy in an increasingly good way, and a hell of a lot has happened. Most of the dramatic changes in my life never got documented here at all. Some of you already know a fair wack, but let's have a brief run down:

(datestamps are probably entirely inaccurate, since I'm writing this at 1am)
  • Jan 2009: Started working as a service desk analyst, doing mostly 1st line IT support
  • Met up with Jess again at Birmingham Pride after many, many years. Fell madly in love. Managed to remain friends with Chloe, who is still my housemate.
  • Summer 2009: Started interacting in person with people from Pride, and met the lovely Ruth, Joe, Lucy, Cakes, and Helen. Starting seeing them all regularly in person at various parties and rock nights. Went on holiday to the Yorkshire dales/moors with Jess. Appointed 2nd line supervisior thanks to my technical ability.
  • Autumn 2009: Bumped into the Midfurs entirely by accident and began attending their fortnightly wednesday coffee meets regularly. Got back into contact with my dear friends Dave and Chris/cmb.
  • Christmas 2009 / Winter-spring 2010: Finally got Chloe help in getting benefits and medical assitance for her agorophobia.
  • Spring 2010: Major viral infection followed by chest infection. Knocked me around pretty badly. Started to learn to drive. Met and became friends with David/Polo, an ex-warwick furry living in leamington at the time.
  • Summer 2010: Became an Incident Manager, in charge of ensuring that major IT incidents get resolved in a timely manner and communication across the board happens appropriately. Went to the vintage computing festival at Bletchley Park with Jess. Celebrated Birmingham Pride. Jess and I holiday to her family home in the cotswalds.
  • Christmas 2010: Ended up spending christmas snowed in at Jess's house in leamington. Actually had an amazing time.
  • Spring 2011: Visted an Acorn and RiscOS computer faire with Jess, meeting up with Chloe Cresswell. Failed two driving practical tests

  • And that Brings us up to Spring of this year, which wasn't all that long ago. The time since then, however, has been asolutely amazing:

Jess and I are still going very strong, two years into our relationship. I had no idea that you could still be this passionate about someone two years in. I love them so very much:

I've had the amazing experience of people you love ending up meeting by accident and becoming wonderfully close. This later resulted in a huge gathering of Dave, Ara, Chris, Kara, Rowan and myself for a weekend at Dave's house. For the longest time, I have regreted moving away from Warwick, but that weekend fixed all that - I have back what was lost! I was always brought up to believe that family is by choice not blood, and as such it is without reservation that I say that they are my family, in every way.

This applies to other people, btw. There are a number of you, especially scifi people, who are very important in my life, even if we don't talk enough. You are all very dear to me, and form an amazing extended family.

Kara, Chris and Rowan all met through sign langauge classes, and through them I'm learning a little of BSL. It is actually proving to be invaluable for times when, for whatever reason, I can't speak. I'm definately going to be looking for proper BSL classes when they start again.

I've booked in for AyaCon, so I'm hoping to organise a mass trip to the noodle bar in Coventry with all the lovely people I know!

Myself and Fletch have finally patched things up between us, and this looks to be muchly helping eachother. This is a major goodness, and we seem to be getting the old Fletch back, which pleases me!

It's early days, but there are a number of things going on with various people of the sort that I always dreamed of having. Still need to talk about this a lot, and the full plan may never even happen, but wow.

Today, I passed my Driving practical test, on the third try with a below average number of minors!

It seems that my life has nearly fixed itself after all these years. My regrets and mistakes seem to have been corrected and improved upon. I've still got headmess in places, but it's slowly getting better. I have an amazing family, both of blood and of not, with an equally amazing extended family. My Job could be better, but is the perfect point to leap off from now that I have my driving licence. All that remains now is to return to living in Coventry (leamington, surrounding area, etc), or to join more of my family in Cambridge. Then I shall truly find myself reborn anew.
