So instead of staying in a hotel in Duluth, we're in Superior, Wisconsin. It's basically the same city, though. We went over the bridge to eat at the Olive Garden (YAY! We need one at home.) where I had the most delicious chicken parmesian ever. When we came back to the hotel my dad and I went searching for a store to buy junk food and found two Super One Foods within 10 blocks of eachother. WHAT?! One must be new, because the one we went into was very sketchy. There were holes in the ceiling, boxes all over the floor, it smelled weird and I'm pretty sure 1/3 of the consumers were escaped convicts. Though it did have a kind old lady who tried to talk to me -- at length -- about how cold it was in the store and how she even wore a sweater under her jacket to buy her groceries.
It's Superior, Wisconsin.
But, you know, I really like some of the buildings here. They look so. . .federal. Know what I mean? They're made with white stone and they have lights shining onto them from the lawn. They're beautiful, and I wish that we had buildings like that at home. Some of their churches are really nice looking, too. We have nice churches in Thunder Bay though. I should look in the Discover Thunder Bay, Ontario book that I picked up from the lobby here and see if we have any neat buildings I don't know about. I doubt it.
Yes! Jar Barf is on Conan! I love this skit. Somehow, even though they just have googly eyes, it's still sickening. Sickeningly HILARIOUS. Watch!
Tomorrow is shopping day, and also I'm going to buy a bathing suit so that I can go swimming tomorrow night. The aquarium also has a new exhibit open! "Life 7 Miles Down". I'm hoping that somebody will want to go there with me. I love it.
Cheers!
