Christmas fic chapter 1

Dec 01, 2010 23:58

Ok so this is my Christmas project~ one chapter everyday until the 24th (since that's when we celebrate in Sweden instead of the 25th that most other countries seem to do). Or well at least that's my intention but idk if I'll manage to keep that up so it might end up with 20 or 15 chapters, what do I know LOL. Hope you'll enjoy it though ^^

Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Kevin/Hyungshik, Siwan/Kwanghee, Heechul/Hyungshik/Kevin love triangle (not really love though but dunno what to call it)

It was December 1st and the boys of ZE:A were busy celebrating Siwan’s birthday. It was the perfect start of the month; the day before big, wad snowflakes had made their way down to the streets of Seoul and now there actually was a white cover on most immobile objects outside.

Inside the dorm it was warm and cozy though, even if a little messy since Taehun the housewife had decided it was time to take out the Christmas decorations from the dusty storage spaces where they had been locked up since last Christmas. Thus, an unstable tower of boxes had been built at one of the walls since they needed the floor space to sit on when it was time for Siwan to open his birthday presents.

Being the goofy, over-enthusiastic fool he was, Kwanghee hadn’t held back in any possible way of showing his love for Siwan and hence, about 90% of the mountain of gifts surrounding the birthday boy carried a tag with the text “To my mushy-plushy sugar bear from Kwanghee(*´▽`*)”.

As one could have guessed, Siwan was a little grumpy and for every present from Kwanghee he picked up, his ears became a little redder as he opened it, eyes widening to the size of golf balls when he saw the content and then hurried to close the box again and throw it away somewhere. Mysteriously enough, they always seemed to end up next to the growing pile of wrapping paper and as the annoying, ubiquitous maknae he was, Dongjun soon crawled there and got hold of one of the gifts. With a startled sound when he opened it, he gasped at its content but soon he overcame the first surprise and hurried to show his fellow maknaes who fell backwards dying of laughter. An enraged Siwan tried to rush up from the sofa to stop them but was held back by the human koala bear that had attached itself to his arm, singing “Happy Birthday” in a muffled tone, eyes closed and a cheesy, dreaming expression on his face.

“You wouldn’t dare to show that to anyone!” Siwan said in a warning tone to the three youngest members who were still wriggling around on the floor with severe stomach pains after laughing so much.

“Hey, what is it, really?” Junyoung asked curiously but Dongjun, knowing well what horrible punishments Siwan’s sophisticated brain could come up with, quickly hid the box behind his back and grinned at his leader.

“It’s a secret. Let me just tell you though that it’s French, branded and very…transparent” Dongjun whispered before joining his maknae friends in another laughing mess on the floor. Siwan shot them angry glares but continued to work his way through the massive amount of gifts.

Eventually, even Kwanghee’s vivid imagination when it came to gifts (both normal ones and others, less appropriate) seemed to have run out and Taehun neatly folded the last of the wrapping papers and put it in the bag they eventually had been forced to get when the floor got flooded with paper.

“Can we go to bed now?” Minwoo yawned and stretched his legs. “Since everyone has given their presents and Hyungshik ate the cake…”

Said boy looked up with an innocent expression on his face when hearing his name but as the conversation didn’t seem to be of interest he went back to eating as much cake as he could in as little time as possible, i.e. until Kevin would take it from him and say that he would get baby fat on his cheeks if he continued eating.

“No! Wait!” Kwanghee called out and jumped up from the sofa, the arm that didn’t cling to Siwan’s ditto energetically waving around in the air. “Heechul hasn’t given my mushy-plushy anything yet!”

Heechul groaned and sighed heavily. He really didn’t want to leave the position he’d taken earlier with his head in Hyungshik’s lap, partly because it was comfortable and partly because it made Kevin gnash his teeth with jealousy. Seeing the urging look in Kwanghee’s eyes though, he sighed once again and lazily got up.

“Whatever, I’ll get it” he muttered as he walked out of the living room. “Can’t I just give it tomorrow instead?” His voice slowly faded away as he disappeared out in the hallway.

Kevin stopped trying to rip one of the cushions apart and instead got up to help Taehun and Junyoung with cleaning up. Seeing this, Dongjun and Minwoo quickly dashed off to their bedroom before someone asked them to help too and Hyungshik happily rested on the floor with the remaining cake, totally engrossed in his own little world. Siwan and Kwanghee began to collect all of Siwan’s gifts and eventually, the living room was restored to its original order.

“There we go” Junyoung said and overlooked the room, satisfied. “I’m going to come up with a suitable punishment for those little ones since they didn’t help, though” he continued and side eyed the door when giggles were heard from it.

“Heechul, too” Kevin added, not because he was being jealous or something stupid like that but just because as the oldest, he had to be fair. “It’s okay to not let the youngest do it sometimes but not him. He should help too!”

“Yeah, you’re right” their leader agreed and nodded. “I should tell him to take out the garbage as a punishment.” With that, he started walking towards Heechul’s room.

“OH and tell him to bring Siwan’s present too!” Kwanghee piped up. “We can’t wait for that much longer!”

“Excuse me?” Siwan said and cocked an eyebrow at him. “Are we in some kind of hurry or what?”

“Yes,” Kwanghee answered and pinched his boyfriend’s cheeks. “You see, I haven’t given you your last gift yet. All those other things were just…what should I say, accessories.” He wriggled his eyebrows, earning a smack on the head from Siwan and loud coughing from Kevin and Taehun.

“Hey, did anyone see Heechul? He’s not in his room.” Junyoung returned with a frown. “And before you ask, no, there was no trace of Siwan’s birthday gift, either.” He held up a hand against Kwanghee, who looked like he was just about to say something.

“He’s not with the kids, then?” Taehun suggested and they all, including Hyungshik and the almost empty cake stand, went to the bedroom where Minwoo and Dongjun were -supposedly- sleeping. The real and the third maknae showed no signs of fatigue though as they were right in the middle of a pillow fight when the six other members entered.

Junyoung cleared his throat loudly and the fight ceased, dust still swirling in the air.

“Have you seen Heechul? He was supposed to get Siwan’s gift but he never returned.”

The two youngsters shook their heads. “Sorry, he hasn’t been here.”

“But where can he have gone, then?” Siwan frowned.

“Maybe he has fallen asleep at the toilet,” Kevin said evilly, still butthurt after Heechul’s earlier flirting attempts towards Hyungshik. By now they were all starting to get worried though, even Kevin himself and therefore all eight of them went to the bathroom to check. Of course Heechul wasn’t there and they divided in pairs to search the entire dorm, more or less believable places like all the fridge (Hyungshik, but that might just have been an excuse for him to grab some ice cream) and the other bedrooms (Kevin mostly wanted to make sure Heechul wasn’t lying naked in Hyungshik’s bed waiting for him to come). Without result, though. Heechul was nowhere to be found, but they found something else instead.

“Hey!” Dongjun shouted from the hall. “What’s this?” He held up a tiny, cylinder shaped object as everyone gathered. At a closer look, it turned out to be a present, judging from the shiny, blue wrapping and the neat bow. “To Siwan” a glued tag said.

“Guess this is my birthday present, then,” Siwan said and snapped the small object out of Dongjun’s hand. After unwrapping it, everyone stared at the revealed content. It was a pack of toothpicks.

“How…uh, generous of him,” Siwan said and blinked a couple of times. “But wait…if this was lying here, in the hall…does that mean that he has gone out?”

“He can’t have,” Taehun said after quickly counting through the shoe rack. “Everyone’s shoes are still left.”

There was a beat of painful silence. What in the world had happened to Heechul?
