I finished reading Kafka on the Shore and After Dark by Haruki Murakami.
I liked the way he writes, it's so easy to imagine every little detail the way he describes it, and I reaaaally enjoyed both stories but specialy Kafka on the Shore.
I can't say I entirely loved Kafka on the shore as it sometimes turned too violent and gruesome for my taste (especially chapter 16, I wanted it to end so bad) but overall it was a really enjoyable book. I had to read at least 3 chapters each time I grabbed it cause I couldn't stop! it just hooked me. My favorite characters were Hoshino and Oshima and was pretty satisfied that eventhough they were secondary characters, the author took his time to let us look deeper into their personalities and toughts. I liked how Hoshino suffered such a big change from when he first appeared to his last scene in the book but still he escentially stayed the same. I liked how Oshima tought, I enjoyed reading about his opinions every time Kafka asked him something. I'd like to meet more people like that in real life.
After reading Kafka on the shore, After Dark didn't feel all that impressive. It was short, light but still good. I read it in 3 days just before going to sleep. BAD IDEA. The last day I had this nightmare where I was in a situation similar to Eri Asai, I "woke up" still inside my dream but feeling as if I had just been somewhere else I didn't know and as if part of me stayed in that place. I couldn't control my body, I tried as hard as I could to get up, open my bedroom door and walk outside but I could barely manage. When I woke up for real I was very agitated and numb :| weird.
