For a while now I've been trying to decide whether I wanted to start actively using LiveJournal again, or whether I would move my blogging elsewhere (possibly just a standalone wordpress blog at my own website). For now, though, I've decided that LiveJournal is as good a place as any for personal rambling posts.
The last post I made here was when my sister and I impulsively adopted another stray cat shortly after losing Morris. His name is Encee (short for Enceladus. Yes, our cats are named Eris and Enceladus. We're nerds.) He was between 7 and 8 months old when the photo in the previous entry were taken, and he was already pretty darn big. He is now ridiculously huge. He is a sweet, gentle giant with the tiniest, squeakiest meow ever. He is also completely, energetically insane. We love him very much.
He and Eris mostly get along well. We had been concerned that it might have been too soon after Morris's passing for her to adjust, but she warmed up to him quickly enough. The only issue between them seems to be that the tables have now turned. When we first got Eris, she would repeatedly pounce on Morris and it would take quite a while for Morris to get through to her when he was done playing. Now it is Encee that will relentlessly pounce Eris, and unlike her Encee doesn't learn a damn thing no matter how many times she hisses and thwaps him across the face. He also does not respond even slightly to being sprayed with a water bottle for doing things he shouldn't be doing. No sense of actions and consequences at all.
Here's a link to a rare photo of them being cuddly, though.
So, now I've resolved that little blogging cliffhanger.
