Thirteenth ★ [Voice]

Halloween... That time of year already, huh?

[His voice seems to hitch for a brief moment, but otherwise he doesn't really hint at anything else.]

How many of you celebrate it back in your own worlds?

[Locked to Aqua, Demyx, Kairi, Lea]

A lot of those from our Worlds have left recently. I just wanted to say- [He swallows hard.]If I disappear ( Read more... )

You mean that this holiday is celebrated in places aside from this city? I would not have believed it...

[Not until coming here and seeing such a variety of worlds, at least. But even then, he hadn't considered that it was anything more than a strange festival of Vatheon.]

Yeah, it is. [He spares a chuckle.] It's rather popular back home. That and Christmas.

How strange...

[He does know Christmas, at least, if only because of a certain well-known ballet.]

But why? It does not seem the most pleasant of... celebrations.

Sometimes it's just fun to get scared. [The shrug is evident in his voice.] I've heard of many different ways to celebrate it, but... we mainly used it for pranks and trick-or-treating.

...Trick-or-treating...?

[Sigh.]

I apologize. I am still unknowing of many of the ways of this world, but I must learn... Especially for a time like this, however short it may be.

It's fine. [He chuckles.] Trick-or-treating is something normally little kids do: going to one another's houses and getting candy as a treat. ...The fun part was the 'trick.'

[...Uh oh.]

Ah, I see. And what is it that made the tricks most fun?

[He is more disapproving than suspicious of anything in particular.]

The simple fact that they're practical jokes. Nothing too serious, just the little things... and scaring the adults and kids alike with our costumes.

[Y u disapprove of island funtimes, man.]

[He still does not trust this holiday, that's why. Every fiber of his being seeks to reject monsters and darkness, a celebration based around them is still an idea he has trouble dealing with.

Still, Riku's answer is reassuring.]

So it is all done with good spirits... That is well enough, then. I suppose it will happen here, as well?

[Best to be prepared, after all.]

[He agrees about the darkness and monsters bit, but this is all in good fun and in his world... nothing about real monsters at all. Thus, he thinks it's okay.]

That's my guess, what with the decorations.

[Be careful. He might just prank you, too~] ...I'm Riku, by the way.

[The idea of multiple worlds is not actually all that strange to him- So really, this sort of holiday should not be. Yet it is. But it is better than the actual monster attacks they've suffered only recently, he supposes. He even manages a light laugh.]

My thanks for the warning, then.

[And wouldn't that just be so dreadful? He'll certainly have to be on his guard~]

Ah, I am Prince Siegfried. It is... good to meet you.

[His hesitation oddly reflective, not insincere. He is reminded more and more often that there are many good people in this city, however they have come to be here.]

[He's one of the few that aren't surprised about it that aren't from his cluster of worlds. Still, this place is strange and things have happened before.]

You're welcome. [...Wait, did he say 'prince'?] Nice to meet you too. [Dammit, what would be the appropriate-? Should have listened to Mickey more in the etiquette department.]

...All the same, it's best to keep your guard up and not become too complacent. Especially up above.

[Oh, it is perfectly alright. Though he makes it his business to be polite, if he had expected the level of courtesy his position warranted back home to be shown to him here, he would have spent much of his time angry.

Anyway, he is far more interested in Riku's more pointed murmuring.]

...I will be certain to keep that in mind.

Pranks are little trouble compared to another monster, after all.
