Whispers of warmth, touches of care. It was dark behind her eyelids. Flutters of wind, brushes of lips. Her arms jerked, graceful movement aborted. Caresses of laughter, embraces of kindness. Her legs gave out, she collapsed onto the cool surface under her shoes.
All these phantom sensations, she didn't know what to make of them. Were they friendly? Predatory? Kind? Hazy in the back of her head, she knew that they were friends, good friends from far far away. Eyes closed, she couldn't see them. She opened her eyes.
Emptiness greeted her, silence echoing in her ears. They had left.
